With reference to the article 'EUR 200,000 per Page: Is There AnyoneWho Was Ever Paid More to Ignore Nature', Brussels, 16 April 2002, published in www.bankwatch.org regarding Sofia - Kulata Motorway Project and, in particular, Kresna Gorge, we would like to underline the following:
- All activities developed by SPEA on the mentioned project have been performed conforming to the contract signed with MRDPW.
- The information and statements in the communique in the above website relating to SPEA's work as well as the presumed remuneration received for the analysis and study of the alternatives outside Kresna Gorge do not correspond to the truth and seriously compromise the image and professionalism of SPEA.
Therefore, we demand officially that the spread information be publicly denied through the same communication media.
In case the denial will not be published as required by us within a week, we shall take the legal steps to defend our rights demanding all damages caused to SPEA resulting from the false information published by you.
We retain the right to involve the concerned institutions as well.
